Valley Community Association to hold summer day camp

BY: Community Papers of WNY Staff | April 28, 2014

The Valley Community Association will be holding a Summer Day Camp for youngsters ages 6 to 12 years old from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily Monday, June 24 through Thursday, Aug. 29 at the Valley Child Care Center, 93 Leddy St., Buffalo. Extra hours, both before and after the starting and ending times, are available if needed.

Day camp operates under the license of the New York State Office of Child and Family Services and provides kids with a safe, secure environment during the summer vacation. Kids will be broken down by age and there will be two separate camps – one for kids ages 6 to 9 years old and the other for kids ages 10 to 12 years old.

Lots of fun activities are planned for the summer. Field trips are scheduled twice a week to local attractions and destinations. On-site activities will include computer instruction, nature hikes, reading groups, arts and crafts, and more. Breakfast, lunch and a late afternoon snack are provided as well.

The fee is $30 per child per day with a minimum of two days per week required, or $140 for a full week. Discounts are available for families. Assistance is also available through the Erie County Department of Social Services for those who are eligible.
