Dog Ears Bookstore & Cafe to offer three new educational programs for local students and toddlers

The nonprofit Dog Ears Bookstore & Cafe, a community bookstore located at 688 Abbott Rd. in South Buffalo, is offering three educational programs for local students and toddlers.

A brand new program, the “Homework Club,” is now being offered from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays at the bookstore. Homework Club is a place where you can finally start that procrastinated project, focus on the monster they call math, let others look at that essay that isn't quite right, or cram for an exam that you are freaking out about. Or, maybe you're part of that 1 percent that doesn't procrastinate and are always on top of your scholarly game. In that case, show us how you do it. Help a B, C or D grade student while enjoying the surroundings of a trendy cafe and bookstore. For more information on the program, email reinertc073@ecc.edu.

A new Puppy Tales Story Time six-week program begins at 10:15 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21. Puppy Tales is for children ages 2 to 4, accompanied by an adult. This session is open to 20 children and will be sponsored by pediatric dentist Dr. Barb Moore. Call the bookstore to reserve your place in the program.

On Sunday, March 2, Dog Ears Bookstore will host a Dr. Seuss Birthday Party from 1 to 3 p.m. for children ages 4 to 8. The cost is $8 per child, and space will be limited for this fun-filled event. Register in-store by Friday, Feb. 28.
