SOUTH BUFFALO - There are some questions that cause a rousing debate whenever they are presented - Does older necessarily mean wiser? Was it the chicken or the egg? And - one that hits closer to home - who has the best pizza in the South Buffalo area?

On Saturday, March 8, South Buffalo’s Boy Scout Troop #60 is giving you the opportunity to help you find the answer to at the least the last question as they hold their 3rd Annual South Buffalo Pizza Fest at St. Teresa’s Parish.

With dozen of local pizza parlors vying for your attention and vote wander through the vendor area sampling the best of the best from our local pizzerias.

“It’s a great event and the funds raised are used to purchase new camping equipment for the boys to use, such as tents, stoves, axes, compasses and anything else outdoor related that helps them to learn outdoor skills,” stated Scoutmaster Dan Scheck. “It will also help to pay for scouting events and summer camp.”

The third year in its existence, the South Buffalo Pizza Fest is becoming increasingly popular. Past events have showcased basic and specialty pizzas from Abbott Pizza, Blasdell Pizza, Bowl Inn, Chick-n-Pizza Works, Diva’s, Emergency Pizza and many more.

Prizes will be awarded for best cheese and one topping pizza, best specialty pizza and best table presentation.

Katie Mallaber and John Prestia will provide live entertainment throughout the event, as the acoustic duo “Road to Recovery” plays your favorites from Miranda Lambert to Adele to Aerosmith.

To temper your sweet tooth the Cub Scout Pack #60 will also be holding a baked good sale and the Girl Scouts will be on hand selling Girl Scout cookies. Basket raffles and 50/50 split games of chance will be available at the event so come hungry and go home happy.

Admission to the event is only $3. Tickets for food and drink are $1 each St. Teresa’s Parish is located at 1974 Seneca St at the corner of Hayden near Mineral Springs Rd. Pizza Fest will run from noon to 5pm, allowing you to cover both the lunch and dinner hour.

For more information, or if you would like to donate a basket or gift certificate to this great cause, contact Scoutmaster Dan Scheck at 462-9761.

Come out March 8 from noon to 5pm to celebrate and promote the South Buffalo Boy Scout Troop #60, and help send the boys to camp while you enjoy the best that our great local pizzerias have to offer.
