BY: Metro Source Staff | November 24, 2012

Veterans from the Woodlands were honored Monday. In attendance was state Sen. George Maziarz, Niagara County Clerk Wayne Jagow, Town of Lockport Supervisor Marc Smith, Town Councilman Mark Crocker and Al Thompson from the Niagara County Veterans Service Agency.

All were happy to be able to take the veterans for their service.

Jagow spoke about the Thank-A-Vet program and Thompson spoke about the benefits available to veterans they may not be aware of.

Maziarz was happy to share stories regarding the Honor Flight program.

The theme of this year’s tribute was music with the story of “Taps” in everyone’s program and each serviceman receiving their branch theme song in appreciation for their time served.

In a room decorated in red, white and blue, veterans and their families enjoyed a meal of baked ziti, cake and coffee.
