Gifts from God Giveaway to help community members in need in Lockport

St. Peter Lutheran Church will hold the first Gifts from God Giveaway event.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 1, in the church’s gym, 4169 Church Road, Lockport community members who have a need are invited to pick out items they need.

Organizer Terry Hoffman said there will be items such as baby through adult clothing, furniture, toys, household items and more.

Members of the congregation have donated all items. No outside donations are requested.

“We wanted to do something for the Christmas season for those who don’t have money to go out and buy things,” said Hoffman.

During the event people can come and pick up a few items for their families that they need.

There is no charge to attend or to receive an item.

“We want to give something back to the community,” said Hoffman.

The Gifts from God Giveaway is presented by the St. Peter’s Lutheran Women Missionary League (LWML.)

Any items left over at the event will then be donated to local charities.

For more information call the church office at 433-9014.
