Charles Gilbert

BY: Kori Sciandra | November 05, 2011

My name is Charles Gilbert and I was born and raised in the City of Tonawanda. I am married and have four children that are or have gone through the city schools system.

I am a proud member of Local #41 IBEW and have been on their negotiation committee; I am an active member of St. Francis Parish and have served on the Parish Council. I am active in the community by not only coaching in little league baseball, but also at the Tonawanda football clinic.

Recent accomplishments:

I put together and had approved a drug policy that is in place and working for all city employees. I fought with council members and won to have Cleveland drive paved. I fought and won to have Frederick Road put at the top of the paving list for this up coming year. I got CSX to finally repair the crumbling concrete at the Young Street railroad bridge. I fought and won against a 45 percent pay raise that was put forward by other councilman. I fought and won against councilman taking a month off of their jobs.

The City of Tonawanda is not just my residence it’s my home.
